We are working to make it easy for you to find sustainably-harvested coffees that are truly shade-grown, but we need you to get involved!

ASK - many cafes or retailers sell a mix of coffees - some shade-grown, others grown under minimal or no forest cover. Please ask the manager or barista how they know your favorite java is shade-grown.

SHOP - Look for certification seals that indicate your coffee has been grown and inspected as shade coffee.  Bird Friendly® and Rainforest Alliance certified coffee ensures that coffee has been produced in a diverse forest-like environment, and Bird Friendly® certification requires an organic certification as well. Also look for triple certified coffee which is fair trade, organic and shade grown.
